Today we are going to a Shelter to pick up our new furry member of the family. We already picked him out and filled out the adoption paperwork. And why do I feel guilty? What is the appropriate time to replace a dog? It’s not like I’m replacing my wife who recently passed away (I know a guy) And I’m already remarrying. Heather is alive, loved and well.
Actually, our new dog is named Shilo and we’re getting him now because our other little dog misses her sister so much. This will give her the opportunity to finally have a dog that will play with her. And will give us another opportunity to work with a very very shy rescue dog. I really like that opportunity because I don’t think anyone would have adopted him the way he is. At least that’s what the adoption person said to me.
He’s only five years old, but he’s extremely shy with adults. He may be that way for the rest of his life which we need to be prepared for but he loves other dogs and loves to play with them. Sammy was also very shy with adults got along well with our other little one. We are prepared to live with that situation although we will never give up trying. Wish us a great Experience. Thank you. i’ll be back tomorrow with a funny blog. I promise.

You will never regret it! All of our cats are rescues (at one time we had 10, but are now sadly down to 5) and they have their share of both physical and emotional problems, but I’ve never regretted bringing them into the family. We have one who has the feline equivalent of autism and only Miss Goose can even pet her (though she does allow me to purchase the food, litter, toys, etc). Whenever she comes out of hiding and actually plays, we all silently cheer her on. I hope Shilo will be happy and get on well with your other furry babe! Best of luck!

Indeed … Overall I enjoy furry critters more than many humans. Ours are not pets, they are family members who just happen to walk on all fours and be furry. 😊
