I recently watched Forrest Gump again. That makes 1325×3 times. The story basically goes that Gump finds a pretty girl, beats the tar out of anyone who touches her and ends up with the pretty girl at the end of the movie. I wish I had known that would work when I was young.
Other than that, it was a very realistic film. I especially like the part when the drill sergeant tells Gump that he’s going to be a general one day. It reminds me of the movie ‘being there’, where a guy only knows how to garden, but his vernacular about gardening is completely misconstrued in Washington DC and he eventually becomes president. Now that movie was as close to real life as you could get.
I think I will begin writing letters to powerful Congressional leaders and only talk about baseball. I think that would work. I will just say things like, “Sometimes you just have to throw a fastball.” Or maybe “Sometimes it’s better to bunt then to swing away.” Then I could be president, although it seems like a very very difficult job.
Or maybe I’ll just skip Washington DC all together and just talk like that in real life. Although, based on recent events I might end up back in the psych ward. Maybe I should just forget the whole thing and never watch Forrest Gump ever again. Good idea? I think so but I would love to hear your opinion.
