About a year ago, I happened upon a scene I’ll never forget. It was on a rainy Thursday night.. Wait it couldn’t have been a Thursday because that’s poker night. Anyway, it was downtown and… Wait, it couldn’t have been downtown because I don’t drive or take the bus. Actually, I don’t even recall what happened. As you were.
One of my favorite TV shows when I was a young boy (as opposed to an old boy?) was ‘Green Acres’. It was a wacky, funny show that made absolutely no sense. I patterned my life after it. There were so many great characters on it. Mr. Haney, who would try to sell anything, Eb, the knucklehead handyman, even a pig named Arnold.
My favorite though was Mr. Kimball, who was sort of a jack of all trades and you never really knew what he did. He always showed up in some official capacity and would say things like, “Hello Mr. Douglas, it’s a beautiful day today, not a cloud in the sky. Well, I guess there’s a couple. Well, more than just a couple… In fact, it looks like it’s going to rain.” Killed me.
I really love crazy, nonsensical movies and TV shows. Pure, ridiculous entertainment when you just want to laugh without putting forth the effort to think in order to get the jokes. Not very often, but once in a while when I feel overwhelmed by sickness and life’s issues.

Loved that show! I still find myself singing that song from time-to-time. “Dahling I love you but give me Park Avenue …”
