This year I hope to check off every item left on my bucket list. Let’s see, build a suit just like Iron Man, climb Mt. Everest, knock off a liquor store, find Jimmy Hoffa and watch the Miami Dolphins win a SuperBowl. Oh, and attend a live Buddy Holly show. I think I can get it done. I feel it’s important to have realistic goals.
I think most of us have certain things we want to do before we croak. Things that might cause us to stretch our limits. The problem is that these things should be achieved while we’re actually young enough to do them. For example, I think I can complete everything on my list above except knocking off a liquor store. I’d probably have a seizure and wind up doing time. That’s definitely not on my list.
There are other things I would like to accomplish, but there are only so many things you can get done in one lifetime and survive. Like I would love to be on a an episode of ‘Friends’ or maybe ‘Cheers’. That would be a blast. I just don’t think those things will happen. Oh well, life goes on.
Perhaps I should choose things that are much easier to accomplish. Maybe run three marathons in one day, watch a movie that DOESN’T star Nicolas Cage, watch Tom Brady throw 31 interceptions in one game or have a pleasant afternoon with my mother in law. Who am I kidding? I’ll never have a pleasant day with her.
