A pizza guy came to our door last night. I told him that we didn’t order a pizza and that it must be a mistake. “No, it’s not,” he said. “A friend of yours forgot his Facebook password and wanted to show you what he was eating for dinner.”
So many people post pictures of what they’re eating or drinking. Ive been guilty of it myself. I suppose we have the need to show everyone who cares to look what a good time we’re having. We just have to realize that somewhere out there is a deranged person dining on a baloney sandwich plotting revenge.
Not that there’s anything wrong with a baloney sandwich now and again, but we never see simple bland foods showcased on a Facebook page. Why would we do that? We want people to understand that we or our spouses are great cooks of that we can afford to go somewhere fancy. We don’t want to show them that we can slap a couple of slices of bread together with a cold cut in between.
When was the last time you saw someone showing off a bowl of broth on Facebook? I know! What would be the point? Also, people create pages for their pets, but where are their food pictures? A parrot showing off his latest bowl of trail mix? A dog showing us it’s special birthday meal? Oh well. I can see people posting recipes. Those are useful. But I seriously doubt that I and others will stop posting our meals, all the while knowing that people just don’t care what I’m having for dinner.
