My Mother-in-law came to our house last week. She got there about 5 pm so my wife told me to ask her about dinner. I said, “So Mom, have you already had dinner or do you want to go home and eat?” Heather was really mad. I thought it was funny.
I am blessed to have a very nice Mother-in-law. Normally that relationship can be very volatile. After 20 years of marriage we’ve gotten to know each other very well. She’s not one of those women who thinks that no man is good enough for her daughter. She only thinks that I am not good enough for her daughter.
I’m just kidding! She’s never said anything of the kind. Although for the longest time she forced me to wear a paper bag on my head in her house if other people were coming over. It could have been worse. It could have been plastic. I know!
I kid. Her name is Judy and she’s really a great lady. I’m glad she’s not like I have described and even more so that she never reads my blog. That would most likely result in what I wrote about her earlier. We’ll be taking her to a Mother’s Day brunch soon and we’ll have a great time. I’ll bring a paper bag though, just in case.
