A teacher once told me that when she was my age she learned very quickly and that I was ‘slow’. I said, “That’s great. You must have had a good teacher.” Slow? I don’t think so.
I know it’s become a cliche, but I’m going to say it again. Teachers are way undervalued in our country, especially now. They have been underpaid and overworked for decades and now find themselves risking their lives in their jobs. And yet they still do it.
These are amazing people. Some of them will have to deal with PTSD long after they retire. Like any employee segment, there are some bad apples who don’t seem to care about the kids, but I think most of them do. The good ones sacrifice time with their families and money of their own to ensure the kids have the supplies needed to learn.
I wish all states would fully fund our education system in order to prepare the children for the future and more parents would take an active role in their children’s education. Our high school was funded well and look at me. I grew up and became a comedian… Um, bad example. Most of the kids received a good education and have made the most of it.

Ok Jerry admit it, you can’t even be serious when you’re trying to be!!! I feel for your teachers of yore.

You’re right, Sha’Tara! Sometimes people don’t like it very much. 😁
