Greg Gianforte Fought Hard for His Victory!!!!

This Greg Gianforte thing has spun way out of control. What most people don’t know is that he was auditioning to host “Saturday Night Live” by doing his impressions of Alec Baldwin and Sean Penn.

The guy won the only seat in Montana less than 24 hours after being charged with violently assaulting a reporter who was relentless in his quest for answers. A reporter looking for answers? Seriously, they do that? It’s kind of their job last time I checked. What’s next? Go to a restaurant and assault the waiter for asking him what he wants to order a few times?

Gianforte apologized to the reporter he assaulted during his victory speech. He said, “When you make a mistake, you have to own up to it. That’s the Montana way. Last night I made a mistake, and I took an action that I can’t take back, and I’m not proud of what happened. I should not have responded in the way that I did, and for that I’m sorry. I should not have treated that reporter that way, and for that I am sorry Mr. Ben Jacobs.”

Duh. It’s pretty easy to apologize after a win. I wonder what Gianforte would have said had he lost? “The guy had it coming to him and he’s the reason I lost.” I have no idea what he might have said, but it seems that all candidates who lose elections have to blame others instead of admitting that they just plain lost.

The most ridiculous thing I heard about the assault were mainstream television reporters who blamed the entire incident on President Trump. Give me a break. Other republicans have begun to say “fake news” which can certainly be tied to Trump. But assaulting a reporter? I don’t think so.

Trump hates the press and the press hates him. It’s been that way from the beginning. There has unfortunately been violence on both sides, although the President seems to get blamed for all of it.

*Note: Some people were upset with my blog yesterday. I am a comedian and I’m not saying anything I wouldn’t say on stage. So please take it all with a grain of salt, whatever that means.
