I Hate Drive Throughs!!

I once worked at McDonald’s. One day the drive through intercom stopped working. The lady heard me, but I couldn’t hear her. Cindy, our manager started messing with it. She finally fixed it and asked the customer if it was better. “The lady said, “No. Now you sound like a girl.”

As a consumer, I don’t like most drive through options. So many times the staff either gets the order wrong or it’s cold when they give it to you. That’s ok if you ordered a salad, in fact it’s preferable. But a burger? Chicken sandwich? Fries? I don’t think so.

I am one of those idiots who doesn’t want to hold up the line by checking the food to be sure that nothing is missing and it is the right temperature. Instead, I drive home like a moron thinking that everything is right. When I discover that it’s not, I don’t want to go back. I just eat it.

In-N-Out does a great job. During the quick process, they repeat your order to you three times to be sure they get it right. There’s another national chain who’s not so careful. A couple of months ago I ordered burgers there. When I got home, they were chicken sandwiches. CHICKEN. There were no cars behind me so they couldn’t blame it on confusing the orders.

So we ate chicken sandwiches, grumbling the entire time. There have been so many messed up orders at that place that we just go to In-N-Out just down the street. The amazing thing is the other place claims to have fresh hamburger, never frozen. (Until you get them home)

I guess the moral of the story is to go to the place that always gets it right. Now if you’ll excuse me, I just returned from a local fast food joint where I was supposed to get a sausage and cheese breakfast. It’s a biscuit. Somebody’s getting throat punched.
