When my daughter, Sarah was little and sitting in her high chair, she was twisting and moving all over the place. My wife said to me, “Straighten her up.” I said, “Sarah, what are you doing with your life? Do you want to be this way forever? It’s time to grow up.” My wife didn’t find it as amusing as I did.
Like most parents, I can recall so many fond memories. Oh how I miss those days. Very late night feedings where they would fall asleep as I rocked them and sang to them. Actually, they may have been faking the sleeping part to get me to stop singing.
When I was a kid, rocking me to sleep meant that if a big enough rock konked my noggin, I would go right to sleep. I’m just kidding. They were baseballs. I joke! I kid.
Bath time was also special. They had so much fun, I remember buying little capsules that would dissolve in the water and dinosaurs, in the form of sponges would appear. They would play with them until the water was cold. Great fun! Then stories, which I would make up as we went. Then songs and off to slumber land.
I am honored to have three wonderful children and seven beautiful grandchildren! What joy they bring to my life!
