You’re Making Me Very Angry!!

A man obsessed with saving money walked into his house completely exhausted. “What happened?” asked his wife. “It’s a great new idea I have”. He said. “I ran all the way home behind the bus and saved $1.50″! She said, “You idiot! Next time run behind a taxi cab and save $30”!

My wife is very frugal, which I appreciate. She shops for an item until she finds the very best price available. We’ve been looking for a sofa that has several sections, most of which have recliners and cup holders.

We went to one store nearby, but they’re all over you from the minute you walk in until the minute you walk out. Honestly, I had to go home and shower. I felt I got slimed more than Bill Murray in “Ghostbusters.” Very high pressure, and we quickly decided that we didn’t want to buy anything there – ever!

While we were there, we decided to look at TVs as well and create a great entertainment room in our house. We walked to the front of the electronics department and there at the front, just when you walk in, they had a 50″ Proscan smart TV at a very low price. It was also in their ad.

The salesman came over and immediately disparaged the TV, saying “You don’t want this TV. It’s not a good quality product and they have lots of problems. Interpretation? This TV is priced below cost so I don’t want to sell it to you because I won’t make commission on it.

He didn’t know that I was aware that he was violating several Federal laws which could land him in jail plus cost him a hefty fine. It’s the old “Bait & Switch” tactic. The law states that if an item is in an ad, you must show the customer the item, tell them the features and benefits and offer to sell it to them.

We found what we were looking for at a different, no pressure store, spending far less money too. No one disparaged the products. In fact, they were extremely accommodating. Great experience!
