I realize that there are two sides to every story, but anyone who fakes their own death to get out of a relationship with Olivia Newton John should get the death penalty. The guy is obviously insane and a menace to society.
According to https://au.news.yahoo.com, the ex is alive, secretly living in Mexico with German girlfriend, a report claims. What? Yes, in Mexico with a girlfriend!
He had been “missing” for more than ten years. Patrick McDonald dated Newton-John for nine years, went fishing one day in 2005 off the coast of San Perdro, California and never returned. Apparently he was on the SS minnow of Gilliland Island fame.
At the time of his disappearance the Coast Guard launched an exhaustive search of the area in hopes of finding his body without success and finally in November 2008 declared McDermott “most likely drowned”.
However two months later, investigators then revealed that McDermott had faked his own disappearance and was alive and well in Mexico. Ok, how do you leave Olivia Newton-John??? When I was a teen I was sure I would end up marrying her. She was the perfect woman in my eyes. Mine and millions of other young men.
It was kind of like when Brad Pitt divorced Jennifer Aniston. It’s insane! Bruce Willis leaves Demi Moore! Moore then adopted Ashton Kutcher, but that didn’t work out so well. My point is that these incredibly beautiful women are getting dumped and I just don’t get it. The same thing happened to Sandra Bullock.
Usually the couple asks for privacy during their difficult time. Bull. I want the story, the dirt, the skinny. I want to hear it all. There are two sides to every story, so what are the other sides? Were these women crazy? Were the men nuts? I want to know!
Investigator John Nazarian told reporters: “It’s rumoured he was with a German national. I spoke to people there. The girl he was travelling with was described as having a German accent.” The investigator then went on to describe reports that McDermott had died from either self-harm or accidental death as “preposterous”.
“To come up with the conclusion that he fell off the boat, and allegedly no-one saw him fall off the boat, is the most preposterous thing I’ve ever heard in my life,” he stated.
22 passengers were onboard the boat at the time of the disappearance and no one saw McDermott go overboard. He was not reported missing until a week later when it’s reported Newton-John contacted authorities after he failed to attend a family event.
Newton-John was in the middle of a tour in Australia at the time of the disappearance. Various reports maintain that their relationship was on-again off-again at the time of his disappearance.
McDermott mysteriously disappeared not long after filing for bankruptcy.
They reported McDermott had unpaid debts totalling more than $30,000, including $8000 in child support owed to his ex-wife Yvette Nipar for their son, Chance.
Ah, a dead beat Dad. That explains part of it. Authorities also uncovered that the Korean-born McDermott has secured a second passport in his birth name Patrick Kim and withdrew life savings from two bank accounts immediately before his disappearance. So he had the money for child support. He just didn’t want to.
In a separate investigation launched in 2009 by Philip Klein – a Texas based private investigator – claimed to have tracked McDermott down to the remote town Sayulita – a favorite with drifters – where he “worked as a deck hand”.
Olivia Newton-John’s response?
“Let him live his life in peace and harmony. He is safe and has started anew again in a new place both physically and mentally. Stop this search immediately,” said Klein.
“His attorney called from Mexico City and said that Patrick didn’t want to be bothered”. You certainly understand that it’s very difficult to be dead all of these years. “He hadn’t faked anything. He just wanted to get away from the drama,” She has since gone on to marry John Easterling.
One person who does not believe that McDermott is still alive however is his former wife Nipar. The actress, who has starred on shows such as Melrose Place, 21 Jump Street and CSI Miami, married McDermott in March 1992. Ok, I think I get that one. She’s nuts.
