March Madness is something completely different for me. It’s the memory of two March marriages. Now that’s March Madness, my friends.
I hate March Madness! There, I’ve said it. I feel better already. For those of us who are not into college basketball, the entire process stinks. Everyone is talking about brackets or something. The truth is, I’m kind of a TV junkie and none of the shows I like to watch are on because of it.
I know, I know. It seems like everyone in the world is addicted to it and even get crazy excited about it. I understand it’s like the football playoffs, but at least those are on weekends. That’s what the NCAA should do. I know it would probably take three months to get it done, but what’s wrong with that?
You would still get to fill out your brackets and I could watch new episodes of NCIS. Win-win. Everybody’s happy. That’s it. I will now start a petition to send to the networks, demanding that it is changed to my idea. Who’s with me ? I fear I stand alone here.
I don’t know why I don’t like basketball. I see it as basically the same plays through out the entire game. I know there’s a pick and roll and the alley oop, right? Full court press, three point plays. The foul system is very confusing to me. It’s the same reason I don’t follow hockey or soccer.
In hockey there is a face off, comparable to a tip off in basketball, I think. There’s a blue line and they put grown men in a time out. Also, in hockey, they love to fight. The fans seem to like that. In baseball or football, if you fight too, much, they eject you from the game.
In soccer, there’s some sort of card thing. I see refs showing yellow cards. Maybe that’s just a caution, which yellow usually means. There must be red cards too, for more serious offenses. Plus, they hit the ball hard with their heads. The NFL has huge concussion issues. You would think soccer players would have the same problem.
Then there’s Jai alai. Who knows what that’s all about? I’ve played cricket, so I’m fairly familiar with that. But I still don’t watch or play it becomes I’m only slightly knowledgeable about the sport.
I don’t know, I’m just thinking weekends for NCAA basketball. It could be February Freakiness, March Madness and April agoraphobia. Sounds doable to me.
See you tomorrow.
