If you are a snooze button user, here is the perfect solution. Place a wasp nest on the top of your clock. Problem solved.
My wife is notorious for hitting the snooze button for at least an hour before she has to be out of bed. I don’t get it. If I have to get up at 6:30, I set my alarm for 6:30 and get up when the alarm goes off.
I realize this is not necessarily gender specific, but I know more women who practice this behavior than men. Maybe because we seem to know that the time between the snooze and alarm is the best sleep possible.
The snooze button is very costly, to the tune of millions of dollars. I know! It’s based on lost productivity of employees across the nation. As an example, if you work in an office environment, most people don’t get right to work. There are various periods of chit chat that take place prior to getting down to business.
Many employers want their employees to arrive ten minutes prior to their scheduled shift. This is exactly why. If it happens, productivity will increase dramatically, at least that’s the thought process. I doubt if most employees would agree.
The most amazing thing to me, thus far, are the people who try to trick themselves by setting their clocks ahead by 5 or 10 minutes. It would make sense if someone did it without their knowledge, so they really thought that was the correct time.
But that’s not what happens. People try to trick themselves by setting their own clocks ahead. I think if you can trick yourself into actually believing the time on your clocks is correct, set ahead by you, you should seek immediate help. If not, your mind can start playing all sorts of games. The guy from “A Beautiful Mind” is my immediate thought.
